Very nice, sir! 馃槑

Yeppers...lots of retro around here...my only retro bike pictured below...my 1989 Schwinn Waterford Paramount [with original 7400 series Dura-Ace components] which I purchased new while on military active duty. I had it restored [frame re-painted and re-decaled] at the Paramount factory [now Waterford Precision Cycles] in Waterford, Wisconsin a few years ago. I raced it on one occasion shortly after the restoration...in a Merckx class time trial...I didn't do so hot [no podium] but it was fun racing it. 馃憤

Nice, my other retro bike馃槑...

Great minds think alike!馃槈

Some fantastic images - despite it being winter, those make me want to get out and ride! Below an image from a local ride here in Scotland. We're very lucky that the roads are quiet, and we have a great mix of moors and hills, so you can get flat, lots of climbing depending which way you turn when you leave the house.
The weather isn't usually like that though....

Is it all Superb Pro - hubs, brakes, etc? You probably already know but those parts are in high command with prices that match.

In keeping with watch philosophy, I had one come in, so one must go out. Sold the Allez Expert for a new Specialized Allez Sprint:

Drivetrain and hubs are Suntour, brakes and headset were replaced with Dura Ace (7400 I think) back in the nineties. Relaced wheels about eight years ago with DT double butted spokes and Mavic Open Pro rims.

I'm loving this thread, especially the older bikes 馃榾 I have one bike with Dura-Ace and another with SRAM E-Tap, and they're nice, and super functional. But it does seem a case of function over form - when you see the old groupsets, they maybe look a bit heavier or run fewer cogs, but they are absolute works of art. Same too with the cranks, brakes etc. Still feel that a slim framed steel bike looks like a 'proper' bike 馃榾

Glad to see a bike thread! Some very nice bikes in here as well.
Here is my set-up...

Giant TCR Advanced SL with a mix of SRAM Force and Red. Wheels in the picture are just some Chinese carbon clinchers.

Bike in the back is my wife's TCR.

Did some miles on the fat bike over the holidays.
That looks amazing!
I love cycling in the snow - something cool about your tracks being the first ones there on a morning - but even with 2.2s (my widest tire) it can sometimes be hard to pass some areas. Fat bike looks amazing to get out in those sort of conditions.

Notice no suspension - presume you don't need it with that kind of float in the tires?

Nice rides and set-up! My wife and I also have the same rides. We both ride 2011 TCRs; my wife rides a TCR Composite while I ride a TCR Advanced SL Rabobank.

Here's my set-up (picture taken back in the summer):

Full Dura Ace 9000 group set. Still have the Dura Ace C50 carbon clinchers that came with the bike but have swapped them out to try on these Giant branded carbon made by DT Swiss. So far so good 馃憤

Between the big tires and snow, no suspension is needed. If it's fresh snow and not too deep (< 5-6 inches if soft light snow, less if heavy) fresh tracks are great. Otherwise, you need to wait for it to get packed out a bit before you can ride it enjoyably.
