It's St. Patrick's Day and here in Savannah GA it's a big tacky party. This year the Bacchanalia will go 3 days and nights.

I ride my bike into town and carry a camera.

I saw this fashionable beauty and just had to get her photo. Fetching, no?

So I ended up camping by this fountain in our big downtown park and watching a passing parade of the beautiful people.

Here's my bike:

This is my SUB - Sport Utility Bike, I built it for urban streets and country dirt roads. It's dark green, perfect for St. Pats.
And my watch for the day, a Zodiac Olympos:

Happy St. Pat's and y'all HAGWE!

Another beautiful day to ride a bike.

Again I'm on my SUB but today on gravel roads through a local wildlife area. The big birds around here are starting to nest and I'll look for some pictures.

In the saddlebags today I'm packing a Nikon D700, a 28mm, 70-200 f2.8 and 300 f4
The obligatory wrist shot
A Great Blue Heron
The Wood Storks populations have really rebounded. A truly elegant bird in flight.

This celebrity pic ticks at least four of my interest boxes:

It's a cloudy day, but still a beautiful day to ride a bike.

I've got to go pick up my car in north Georgia, so I'm getting underway now. I'll try and fetch some pics along the way and post them later on.
I'll be riding this, my Trek Madone 9.x.

I wish I had more interesting pictures, but here I am enroute, and after arrival.

The skies actually cleared up nicely before I left, so I was quite warm in my wool underlayer; maybe 57° at the start, and 62 by the end.

I ended up only 32 miles from home, but the last 20 was unknown territory, including 8 on the Big Creek Greenway path from Roswell to Alpharetta, GA. After that, it was dodging trucks and cars the remainder of the way.

Oh yeah, so here's the car I rode my bike to for pickup after clear-bra installation:

As a racer dude I am on thin ice with this one. Not a lot of experience on MTB.

Still things to do but planning first ride next weekend. This is a user and it will see some action. Gravel roads and trails in the woods. Nothing technical. It will get dirty. That is why I have not focused on finish.

A 1989 Bridgestone MB-1 in Tange Prestige with original Koski fork. "Updated" with XT M737 except LX cranks (XT BB though). NOS M730 seatpost and bolt, Flite 1990, etc.

Planning for tan wall tires but these will have do until I get some. Planning on racer style bar wrap.

Beautiful day to ride a bike in Cincinnati, OH today...did about 55 hard miles with fellow masters teammates in preparation for the upcoming road racing season...so after the ride I decided to check the glue on my road racing tubulars...which look OK to me. I don't know...I glued those tubulars on 4 years ago (with supervision)...you think it's time for a re-glue? My mech said that if I can't peel them off easily (I cannot) that I should be good-to-go.

Had this same bike, what a great ride! Unfortunately it was stolen out of my garage when I lived in Denver.🙁

Love those. I had a MB-0, the one with the eclectic build spec by Grant Petersen (who later started Rivendell). Rode it to death, such a lightweight tube set, I think shared by the racy Ritchey P-23.

Met Grant Peterson before I purchased my Bridgestone MB-1, miss it very much! Got the chance to meet him again when purchasing this frameset...

Built this up using various parts in my parts box...

Only things I purchased new for this build was the Brooks saddle and bar tape, the Synergy rims (650B) and the Honjo fenders. Oh and the DT Swiss spokes, of course.

Used hemp twine for the chain stay protector, still haven't shellacked it yet...someday maybe.🙄
