In this era of information availability, a find like this is incredible. Someone was not doing their homework..Does it run? These micro rotors if neglected can be troublesome little buggers.
I’m sure you can. Depends on folks having the notion that no one wears watches anymore. Just like no one is playing LP’s anymore.
@bags1971 if you ever decide to support OF such that you can create your own avatar text, I kindly suggest 'barn find baby' as yours
Yes that notion does play a significant role. Another is arrogance. In person while hunting for watch treasure I come across many antique and jewelry/watch dealers who think they are all that when it comes to watches and they are more likely to let that arrogance take the place of knowledge. These types, and there are a lot of them at flea markets and watch/coin/jewelry shows like to think of themselves as predators, similar to carnival barkers. We get plenty of great deals from people who think they are getting the best of us. The key is to let them believe precisely that.
rotor rub is extremely common on these, I would say even expected. IIRC they modified the mechanism in a later upgrade which is backwards compatible so sometimes people will use the upgraded rotor from a later caliber when getting serviced, at least that’s what I did based on watchmakers recommendation. the above is a patent pending version which means earlier
This piece is not something you’d come across at a thrift store but definitely owns all the character it carries with it. It sure has seen many sunny days ☀️
