@Pianist -
You drop
This rosebud on us then walk away for cocktails and night out as we sit here drooling over it and want to know more! Dude, where did it come from? How has it seen such little wear? Do you have provenance, boxes, papers...and most importantly- how much did the pay for it?!?! The suspense is killing us!

Oh my , just a couple of my favorite things on this thread: sharp lines, fat lugs and the great Gene Wilder.

Please @Pianist, if possible please share some more details and pictures.🥰

There is no back story. @Pianist has been finding great examples for years.

Jeez. I love your watch. Where does one find these watches these days. It seems that eBay is full of mostly charlatans.

I thought @Pianist is a dealer from Belgium. So I assume the watches are coming to him. But maybe not. Let's hear the story!

What is exactly the definition of a barn find? Is it considered a barn find when you buy at or near market value, or is it considered a barn find when purchasing a nice watch at a place like Hodinkee?

I've always considered a "Barn Find" like finding a 4 Leaf Clover. One day, out of the clear blue, there it is 😀

This is not an ebay/internet find.
The story is quite simple actually. I bought it locally, from the son of the first owner.
The watch had been laying in a drawer for a couple of years, then he decided to wear it but he did not know it was a collectable watch. Recently he discovered its real value and decided to sell it. I paid an honest price, this was not a steal.

That’s what I wanted to know! Son of original owner- always nice to know where it came from. And glad you did justice to the father by giving his son a fair price for it rather than trying to rip him off.
