Hi OF!

I am going to Rome in a couple of weeks, eating and drinking is on the agenda (of course..😁),
but I need to do something else….

So do you have any nice vintage watch shops, or other watch related places to visit that you could share with me?

Looking forward to your answers!

I think the last time i was in Rome was before i got into vintage watches, but I can't imagine there'll be many reasonably priced places for vintage watches

The big citys don't seem to have any "bargain" watches, but always fun to cruise, and maybe have a chat with the owner?
I have found a few, and they have crazy prices....

Interested to know if you find anything decent. I will be going to Rome for Christmas. Looking on line, seems expensive, but you never know what one might accidentally come across.

Got back from Rome, with lots fo nice memories!

The weather was unusually warm and sunny, so outdoor dining (and drinking!) was a lovely surprise.

I had some watch stores to visit, and I started with Watches in Rome.

I had booked a meeting with Julian, so he was prepared for me.

They had a very nice Speedmaster 2998-2, and we talked about this one.
But he and his father also has a private collection of Rolex that they wanted to show me!
And these were amazing, I totally forgot to take pictures of the entire collection, but I looked closely at a few of them.

I think we spent over an hour talking watches, and they were so nice and friendly!

After this, it was time for some drinks and lunch, after that I went to Grafica Oro.

https://www.graficaoro.com

The owner of the store (Agostino) was away for a holiday,
but they had arranged to have the watch at another store (NUNC Orologi Roma) - a really nice gesture of them.
I have been looking for a Speedy SW for some time, and this one looked very promising.
The dial had a lovely brown tone, but the case was a bit to worn (IMHO).

I had lots of time with the watch (and other watches), and the people in the store were very nice,
we talked about watches and also about some nice restaurants that I should visit.

I managed to visit Bonanno also.

They had a nice collection of vintage Rolex, and a lovely Sub that I took a closer look at.
And also a huge collection of modern watches, so that was an interesting shop, with very helpful people.

I went over to Hausmann (Thanks @Fallout Boy !!), they had lots and lots of nice (and very expensive) watches, both modern and vintage.

These watchstores are all within walking distance from each other, and lots of nice restaurants in between.

Rome has tons of nice places to wine and dine, but I can highly recommend the Rooftop bars at Fendi, Hotel Bulgari and also La Rinacente!

Looks like a fantastic trip.
How much was the SW, if you don’t mind me asking?

Ichnusa, Averna, Grappa and what appears a Negroni - regardless if you bought a watch or not…definitely, you had a good trip!! 😇
