AWI: Another watch identification

Hi all,

a friend of mine gave me this Zenith solid gold watch to sell on eBay (he doesn't have an account and asked me a favor). I wasn't able to identify the model in any way. I know that movement is a 2572PC.

I have the suspect that it could be a franken watch, because the internal support was missing and the movement could... move a bit inside the case.

Nobody wanted to buy it, neither at the price of the gold (17gr). So we decided to sell the gold and he he gave me the movement for free.
Now I have the movement alone and I would like to find the correct case to restore to its original dignity.

Thanks for the possible answers!

Here are the pictures:

It looks like you posted photos of everything but the movement so it will be difficult for us to tell you which case to look for.

Frankly, I think you made a mistake scrapping the case. If you were interested in preserving the watch, you would probably have been better off making a case-holder for the movement. The dial obviously belongs in a gold case, and it seemed to fit well in that case. It was probably original, just missing a case holder or some mounting clamps.

You're right, here's the photo of the movement (as i wrote is 2572PC):

This friend wanted to sell it/dismantle it due to fact that it was an ex-wife gift. I couldn't buy it, so he decide to sell the case and gave me the movement, as I wrote. So I'm looking for a compatible case, better if gold-plated.

Just a sad story all around. I hate seeing these cases scrapped after surviving 50+ years. TBH, I think you already know what case to look for. It's the one you just had melted.

I know, I was not the person who took the decision. I'll look for a compatible case and try to resurrect a decent watch.

Small update. I put the movement inside a correct case, bought a new tige and crown. Yesterday I've received from Amazon the strap. And here it goes:

Congrats, the watch looks very sharp. The lugs are even better preserved compared to the original case.
