I test drove a Porsche Taycan 4s , and must say it was a most impressive machine. Once the solar goes up on my roof, the possibility of one in my garage rises exponentially. Figure the car/solar will pay for itself after 67.869686 years.

Sweet looking car. Try to get a deal on it. Could pay for itself in 60.56688 years.

I'm not a huge fan of Ev cars but some are ridiculously fast.

Yeah, I just feel like EVs are fast like quartz watches are accurate - sure it might perform better, but it's not very fun.

Same issue with lots of modern supercars' launch control programs. Sets it to shift automatically. Faster, but... where's the fun in that?

I understand and agree with you. I just find it fascinating how fast they're getting. But, they're not a driver's car.

When I can enjoy a video/audio link of EVs as much as this I will get one as a DD. thanks @Northernman for this reminder!

It's crazy how fast everything is getting, come to think of it. Tire technology and mature launch control programs are getting all these supercars to 60 in under 3 seconds now, regularly. Only problem is, they're not really driver's cars either :/ Maybe I'm just getting old, but I really don't care about whatever Ferrari, Lamborghini or McLaren are doing anymore. Give me something interesting that I can actually use for a weekend escape!

According to this guy, take a McLaren F1 😀
(there are 3 videos, 1 per car - automotive pornography at its best)

No hybrid pseudo-hypercar can beat a real racer 🥰

BTW the real reason electric cars are beating super/hypercar on a short distance despite the additional weight is not the immediate torque of their electric engine. It is the gear ratio.
A Tesla may beat a Ferrari or a Porsche 911 on the 1/4 mile but it is still beaten by a Giulia QV on the standing kilometer. And on a proper race track, you only need a Megane RS. In 10-15 years maybe, when EV will drop their eco-unfriendly lithium battery...

Eh I prefer my sports cars to have sports car engines, not family SUV engines
So what do you think of using engines from rather stodgy family sedans in sports cars?

Nah, not a big fan of the way the Germans have been going with their platform-engineered sports cars these days. Remember when an M car was an M car, and not just a regular model with a little extra boost? I miss that.

I'm not into Miatas specifically but yeah, I'd say the Miata is the minimum of civility and size for me - if you're looking for something useless why not just save money and garage space, and go way faster by getting a liter bike?

I know you like Lotus, so I'm just gonna say, "no comment" 😉
