Great car, but the fact that it wasn't available in manual for most of its time here sucked. And once they finally caved, it was kinda too late. They also didn't put it in the wagon :/
There are benefits to automatics...like explicit ones. And it's hard not to find a smashed to bits manual

Yes, but in a small sporty car like this I just couldn't see myself ever getting along with being stuck with an automatic. Just like an S-class would be weird with a manual.

As far as hard to find, it's the same as any cheap manual RWD car since they've all already been modified. Same thing's happened for the once-ubiquitous Fox-body Mustang even.

The is200 was designed by the same ppl that designed the AE86. In Japan it was called altezza or your highness

Oh yes, I know. We got most of Toyota's high-end products as Lexus models here.

Speaking specifically about what we got for the 1st-gen Altezza / IS in the States though - only the I-6 sedan with the automatic. Until the very end of the generation when we got the manual sedan for like 2yrs and the automatic-only wagon for 1. Never got the turbo 4 unfortunately. And no manuals at all for the 2nd gen, although we did get the IS-F (which also should have had a manual)

What I meant by that is, they're all getting harder to find because good ones have already been bought for modification. Nissan 240SX, Fox-body Mustangs, anything of the sort like that in unmodified condition are going up in price these days.

I keep seeing unmolested 240's going for more than some 350 and even 370 Z's lol.
I was joking the other day that 350's are now the beat to shit 240's of 10 years ago.
Funny how that works...

bought this AE86 unmolested waxoiled with low mileage for 10k 10 years ago in white with black original paintjob that had been sitting in a heated garage off a Dutch fella with my lil bro. It's in Romania now. Ppl keep walking up to him saying I'm buying that car off you. I'll WhatsApp him for a picture if you want.

Except the KA24 is nearly bulletproof, no SR20 swap needed. The VQ35 though... woof

What's that Porsche again that starts on fumes otherwise you need to change the plugs?
Used to know a real Porsche freak but he lost his memory thru a brainhaemorrage.
The one where you turn the ignition, hit the accelerator, let go then fire up the engine?

Oh it's a Lister Storm GTL by the looks of it. Bit far off to be 100% sure but has the basic shape

Love the Champion GT2 though, the 993 GT-class race cars don't get enough attention
