Hi. I'm looking to get my first Aqua Terra. Currently own a Peter Blake in electric blue and looking to get a more modern daily wear watch. I settled on the quartz Aqua Terra in grey teak due to budget and wanting to keep service costs down.

I found this 231.10.39.61.06.001 watch from a Japanese seller on Chrono24/ebay with a lot of positive feedback. Price after tariffs ($2000) about the mid range for a good condition one having warranty cards but no box per Google.

I've done some online research on spotting counterfeits but would appreciate some advice because I've never seen a grey teak in real life. Thanks

Thank for that input. Looked a little odd to me but I wasn't sure.

It could be down to overpolishing and poor photo quality but I agree something seems off—the engraving of the depth rating on the caseback seems a little too rough, for example.

I’m also a little suspicious of “9” on the date wheel: shouldn’t the top be round rather than squared off?

My gut tells me this might be a street corner special, and with a quartz watch the risk is high. I’d keep looking if it were me.

I agree, that 150m/500ft engraving seems pretty poorly done? It could just be the contrast. The date '9' looks odd, but I don't know if that is just something with the quartz movement. I wouldn't buy this without pulling the case back off and inspecting the movement carefully.
