Authentic?

I believe that you would get a better response if when you post you offer up your opinions as to what you believe is right or wrong with the watch if for no other reason to at least demonstrate that some preliminary research has been done. I consider this to be a follow on of the post by MSN
(For The New Members: Read)
It seems to be growing out of proportion as to the amount of people who want to know the value or authenticity of an item without offering any opinion of their own. OP please do not be offended and everyone here wants to help but one should also be prepared to help them self.

well, I bought it-$300. I hope I didn't get ripped off. I have never really bought much online. I bought some polo shirts on ebay once and they were knock-offs. Thanks again for the help guys.

You didn't get ripped off, I think that was a good buy. Nice price. The only issue is with eBay, who knows how well it is running currently. "Running good" can mean everything from "just serviced, perfect" to "barely." But I think you will have good luck with this pick up. Can always have it serviced.

The one in my profile pic is not for sale 😉 It's a keeper.

Congrats!

Thanks. I really didn't think you could pick up a good Omega for $300. I will post update when I get it--might be awhile. It is coming from Spain.

Nice catch, just my preferred style, stainless, no date, cross hairs.

I was going to put in a snipe but when it went over AUD$400 I thought let the newbie have a go (Curse the weak Oz$ 😡).

Yes, that's why I have just offloaded a few things in USD then kept the $ in PayPal to fund new acquisitions

I am so excited for my first omega. I almost bought a franken off of craigslist--am so glad you guys helped me out. I am thinking of picking up one of these solid gold Hamilton watches next. They can be had for $300-500.--seems like a pretty good value for a solid gold watch

You did well with that omega, if it has an origional dial that was a steal as it looks to be in very good shape.

Those Hamiltons are nice but be aware of the case sizes...they are on the small side. Personally I don't have any issue with these sizes (33mm & 30mm respectively) but just a heads up.

Good for you. Looks like it is all original case, dial, hands. But next time do more homework before you buy. You have been lucky this time.

In my case I did homework (but not enough and asked the wrong questions.) The end result was one watch that is very likely a redial and now will be resold at a loss. Another one with the the wrong hands for the watch, not sure if it will be kept. My fault in the end, I should of learned more about vintage before I purchased.

love the idea and look of vintage, but never again. Will have to wait a while, will buy new Seamaster when able. THIS TIME WILL TAKE TIME AND RESEARCH THE MODEL PROPERLY. IT IS NOT THE VALUE IT IS HOW I T MAKES YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WEAR IT.

without the help i received on here, I most definitely would have got a bad one. This website is an invaluable resource for someone just getting into vintage watches.
