Sorry, what is a recut case........

it’s a case that has had lots of material removed on the sides to give it an « okay » shape again. But per consequence it’s much thinner now than it is supposed to be. Look at the lugs. Look at the lugs from below.

Thank you, kov. I was fooled by the brushed finish on the sides thinking it still had the factory finish. Fooled indeed, it now turns out. Thanks for pointing it out.

@haddemall when a case is damaged or becomes too soft due to too much polishing, some people decide to cut the case to original shape and apply the factory finish to the sides. You can easily be fooled by the sharp edges and the familiar finish, indeed.

@kov Well, I feel both fooled and alarmed since I was considering a bid on the damn thing. That would have been a very rude awakening indeed today.

👍 Happy to help 😉

Still it sucks that a) the auction house gives it a 8/10 score b) the « expert » gives it a 9/10 ::facepalm1::

I also wouldn’t be happy with that (too short) sweeping hand 🥱

Highly appreciated.

I don't think the staff have a clue about any of this.

I don't know,

i think during the years there's been a lot of information going through fora, and the sweeping hand is the most commonly known feature, even i know it, hard for a professional not to know
