I apparently have a chapter around me too.

Has anybody done this and what does an organization like this really offer in return for annual dues?

I stumbled across their national convention a few years ago. Yes, I know, you wouldn't think this is something you stumble across but nonetheless I was driving by a convention center and saw the sign. Stopped in..it was not a public event...members only, but the lady at the front desk took pity on me when she saw my sad face longing for more of the view I could only see a glimpse off (or it could have been my dashing good looks and charisma). For whatever reason she let me in, 100,000sqft of timekeeping splendor(now you have an idea where I'm from...metric system...phooeey!). Ah, I can recall the smell of metal polish, oil, and little old men with eyepieces(imagine the keymaker from the Matrix movie). That was the moment, that was the place, where it all came together, where I caught this wonderful disease to follow the wonderful world of watch collecting. A veritable sea of timekeepers (oddly none with the correct time). The passion they held for their art, the designers of novel and miraculous forms of timekeeping. I can picture that event clearly even today.

Hook, line and sinker.

That's interesting.

I searched in the omega forums for previous posts about the NWACC but didn't find anything quickly.

I'm actually at a conference I Chicago now for manufacturing, but no guys with eyepieces so far, just automation haha.

I did see two rolexes and one sea master though on the wrists of salesmen.

I've often wondered if y'all knew from what part of the world I inhabited.

The NAWCC chapter that meets in Toronto insists you join the chapter before you can attend a mart, this is told to you at the door after you've shown up because you received an invitation to attend as their guest. I wasn't amused...

There's another chapter out near Kitchener I think...

Most discussion boards (in fact, I can only think of this one as the exception), allow you to post your location in your profile so it displays when you post (just like your Username or Avatar).

If you're frequenting the Buddhist discussion boards, for instance, and post your location, worst case scenario, someone breaks in and steals your karma. Many members here have a lot more at stake. Economically. Not spiritually.

Sorry, as a Brit, I can't understand what you are saying. This is just noise.
