As a buyer, does it bother you when...

I don't understand this comment. Case and bracelet are solid 18K. A Speedmaster 57 in solid gold (there isn't a 38 with a gold bracelet) is $36,000 MSRP. That watch is $13,500.

£15K GBP is nearer $20K USD

It's a solid gold version of a pretty mundane watch (the Speedy Date). When sold without bracelet those struggle to fetch £4K/$6K, the bracelet adds, what £2K/$2500 tops? Its priced at roughly triple what the market thinks is fair.

Woops, I used 12k not 15k. So the value of the gold is not that high. Thanks.

I hear you, trying to do instant currency conversion on here taxes the best of us. I'll be generous, maybe its only double its real worth.

Not a bother as it takes a lot more for anything in life to really bother me, but find it very disingenuous when those selling recently released LE versions try to disguise their flipping-for-profit scheme with a BS story line.

I lost money on the sale of mine and got another six weeks of expenses while I try to find a job.

So I hope you're not including me in that.

Totally Unique. Really unique. Very unique.

No. No. No.

It’s either a one of a kind or not. You cannot quantify or hyperbolise this term. Constantly misused in all aspects of life. Drives me mad.

HNY from the unique one and only me....

I never saw your FS advert, so no, I was not including you personally - my reference is from others I have seen selling, who were obviously flipping the watch shortly after purchase with a sad story and jacking up the price from its original MSRP.

This is exactly why I wouldn't judge someone was stupid or uneducated for paying a price that they clearly think is fine, for something that they really want. I'm sure I've overpaid for watches, but if I did I didn't give it a second thought - the ones I missed still haunt me...

Like this one recently. Too cautious, thought I had it, lost it last seconds...🙁

^^^^ as a collector of military watches- this drives me insane.

camouflage does not make a watch military for sure but I will say that the G-shock is probably the most prevalent watch in the modern US military.

It bothers me when sellers have listings with an asking price and then have an auction starting price at asking price minus 3-5%. What is the point in having an auction at all then?

Or a reserve that isn't just "safe" but significantly higher than market value.
