1940s Reconvilier with silver mirrored foil numbers in large art deco typeface. Very interesting silvered inner pattern ring. Blued steel hands. @Syrte am I okay with this one? 😀

Beautiful and most art deco.

Talking about iconic art deco design, the following lamp was on auction recently— but apparently remained unsold due to bidding falling short of the sellers expectations. Holy smoke what a beauty. Straight from the King Tut/ Egyptian influence playbook- it will deserve a double post.

This Arctos art deco tank just arrived, and now needs to go back out for servicing. These pics are from eBay but I will post better photos when it's back from service and has a suitable strap. Late 40s or early 50s, with galvanic grey and copper colored dial. The little dot at 6 o'clock is especially charming and makes me feel this watch can be rightfully called art deco. The dial has an interesting concentric circular grooved pattern, probably stamped.

That's a very cool dial. No movement pictures?
I haven't opened it up myself yet since it's one of those frontloaders where the dial, movement, and caseback pop away from the caseband and crystal. Here is the movement pic from eBay; very simple german movement "osco kal. 42."

I threw it on my only fixed lug/open ended strap while I'm waiting to drop it off at my watchmaker, not a good color match but it helps show what this will look like eventually. I think a gray, tan, or taupe colored strap would look nice.

Just acquired this wild 1932 vintage Art Deco curved keyboard Hohner accordion a few days ago.

Big fun! Requires becoming accustomed to the curve in the keyboard to play, but is surprisingly ergonomic and comfortable once one gets the hang of it.

The pre-war Hohner next to my "main squeeze."

Not watch related but definitely art deco. The Napier Art Deco festival is definitely worth a visit if you're ever in New Zealand while it's on. The whole city was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and was totally rebuilt in the Art Deco style, not because it was currently en vogue but because it was cheap to replicate. It's now one of the world's best living examples of the art deco style. The festival runs for a week and is full of performances, events, and tours. Here are some photos of our last visit to the festival:

Just sayin'...

Best general interest thread ever on the Forum and Syrte came up with the topic!

We're all grateful!

I would consider this dial design to be art deco, Longines invoiced 1946 to Norway.
Same style from Omega:
