Perhaps something someone on this thread would be interested in (sorry if anyone had seen this before and was intending to bid)

Just picked up this tiny sterling beaut. The Canadian in me just couldn鈥檛 let it go (Birks being like Canada鈥檚 Tiffany & Co.)

Neat piece, with a Tavannes movement and Swiss, 0.925 case. The dial might be of the indelible type, as well.

Edit: Photos below added for posterity.

Great info, thank you! Would love to hear anything else you might know about it. I was given very little from the seller, was just drawn to it for the reasons stated above. A few more macro pics of the dial below (I added the funky nato for a bit of cravat flair!)

Thanks for the additional photos. The dial does appear to be of the indelible type, with enameled printing that sits in precise recesses. These dials stopped being used by mid-tier brands (Patek Philippe continued using them) around the start of the Great Depression. The Tavannes movement is also well-made. Here is some information on the company: https://www.vintagewatchstraps.com/tavannes.php I am sure that @bubba48 will appreciate this piece.

This cookbook found at a friend鈥檚 old house may well be from the 1950s but some of the font is clearly from the art deco era. And the whole thing, complete with advertisements for 芦 modern 禄 kitchen cabinets is simply priceless in its vintage delightfulness.

I have a thing for the art deco鈥檌sh ads of the mid 20th century.

Here are two from the mid 1940s. I have a whole bunch but these two are pretty cool

These are great, I too have a soft spot for modern/industrial rail art.

I have always liked trains but the ads from that era is just special. Also some of the best architecture from the late 20鈥檚 to the late 40鈥檚 馃榾

From a deck of playing cards. When I got them they were sealed but the cellophane wrapping disintegrated.

More people would take public transit if infrastructure still looked that good
