Had to free this from OB Las Vegas after two years of ogling it, even got a bit of a discount...
He was asking way too much in my opinion 😲

Crap. Weak moment in Las Vegas today. Guy at the Rolex AD in Caesar’s offered up 30 month’s zero interest. I’ve never considered financing a watch, but for under $300.00 per month, a black dial Explorer II is now haunting my wrist. I just hope my SMP is okay riding home in a Rolex box for a couple of days.

I've told this story here before - it'll take me less time to re-type than search, copy and paste.

My first decent watch was a Rolex Sub which I bought as a favor to a friend who had just got a job at an AD. This was around 1989 and I had just turned 21.

You know, help him out a little.

36 payments of like 70 bucks per month and that bad boy was all mine.

I still have the watch. Looking back, I should have "helped him out" with like every Rolex made... lol

I did buy 2 more including a used 1962 SS black gilt datejust which I also still have. I don't remember exactly but I think it was 800 bucks. The only reason I bought it was because he got extra commission plus big year end bonus points on watches nobody wanted.

A big vintage marble clock.
Cool clock! Were the sunglasses part of the deal?

Haha they are almost as vintage as the clock.

Not allowed to wear them though, my girlfriend hates them.

I always feel like Tony Montana when wearing them 😉

Why? I really don’t know

Normally a very good €/kg ratio with these when compared to other vintage time pieces! Having said that not quite so good for your fuel coefficient on the return trip though 😁

As long as she is fine with the huge marble block in your house I guess you're fine 😁

So you're also a big fan of Scarface; I thought that clock looked familiar...

Arrived today from the wonderful world city of Montreal, Quebec. High grade movement. From the estate of a local merchant banker...
