This arrived today. My first Waltham and first 7736. What can I say, I'm a sucker for panda/reverse panda chronos!
Super 70s chunky case, in fantastic untouched condition with original crown and purchased from the son of the original owner. Crystal is a bit scratched, but I got me a new tube of polywatch yesterday! 2e4d005c24dc32deff94105db93ffbf3.jpg b352f49c932f5b7a6dbee7daaf7890b8.jpg bc51f20cdc3577badf4854ec22b09c2a.jpg eaea4e75241813ec8c8397ccb7c8aeed.jpg 58b67bd9ecfc8b5a45a3b6200ee4cd29.jpg c1a748f049fd6f626fe5a5e4118204d7.jpg 6ed35531d566d5a5e9d89ef9b2c8786f.jpg

this watch arrived today and i belive this is a rare watch but the band is probaly ultra rare and made of Plexo or Flexo hmm.
The watch itself is a nivada waterproof made 1938 for swedish market in a smal batch.
its missing glas and have many years of dust on the dial probaly this watch never left the shop cause broken glas
Leaving today for watchmaker to get a cleaning and waiting for its new glas.

So this arrived this morning from OmegaForum's very own Kringkily, aka George, who was superb throughout the purchase. Cannot recommend buying from him enough.

I was on my way to work when I got the call from FedEx. It was a long day ....

I had to sell my rather nice Leica camera gear to fund this.

I intend to have a small collection of watches, and this will be the crown jewel.

A 105.012-65 with 1039 bracelet.

This follows a few days after another major purchase, a Panerai 111.

Beautiful choice - I love Speedmasters on 1039s, what a great combination 👍

Thanks. But I am thinking about purchasing a different bracelet to preserve the 1039 if I am using the Speedy on a regular basis. Could someone please point out the darkest steel version. Would also like to pick up one or two leather straps as well. I love that the Speedy is so versatile.

Unless your 1039 is visibly damaged or is so short you'll need to be using the stretch links to their full potential, I wouldn't worry about preserving it. They're not really that fragile when worn with care (say, about the same level of care you'd wear a watch with in the first place...) so I'd say if you like it, wear it. What good is it sitting in a box? 😉

As for straps, there are many threads already on this forum asking the same question. Search away!

Nice catch! Those Alpinas are nice watches, and extremely undervalued IMO.

Left a few in a antique shop in Amsterdam that I regretted, happy to point someone in the right direction 😉

I got this today - I bought from America. Worked out at about £170 (GBP) - I avoided import duty as my friend brought it back for me. By no means mint condition, but I wanted a daily beater - something retro, cheap, reliable. Has a little scuff on the dial, crystal is not OEM but other than that I'm pretty happy with it 😀
