I guess I got a thing for the classics. Can't explain this purchase any other way. Jumbo, Late sixties or early seventies. White gold. Comes with original deployant...

Strange thing is, I had a Reverso and didn't like how it wore. This one is just right for me.

Just arrived... my second speedmaster, inspired by some nice pictures and threads here!
Another modern watch after a FOIS last month. I know the TinTin is not everybody cup of tea but i really like the extra detail on the dial and the story of it:)

I gave my Tintin to my son for his college grad this past weekend... It's now been two days without it, and I spent tonight looking for another one in the usual places. This is a sickness.

Just arrived after a scary moment with USPS and having to file a claim. Chased this down for months.

    Wow.

Could you ever figure out what happened to it in the meantime? Was it on the bottom of a pile in Chicago, perhaps?

Funny you mention that cause my package spent a week stuck at ISC CHICAGO IL. In the end they sent it to the wrong post office where it was loaded onto a truck and stuck in limbo for awhile.

    Well, yesterday I bought this....
    Img_7345sm.jpg

It is a bit random but was super super cheap, but I wanted a project. It is a Siemens HU10/12 master clock. Weight driven but with an electric winder. Combines my love of clocks and electronics. It has a great mid century look. The inside looks a bit scary, but really it is pretty simple, just lots and lots of mechanically activated switches.
    Img_7351sm.jpg
First job was to dismantle and clean it all as someone had decided that the key to keeping it going was to cover the whole thing in green oil yuck! seriously what were they thinking... it was everywhere!::facepalm2::
    Img_7341sm.jpg
Anyway, clean now, but plenty of work to go on working out how the electronics work now ... don't want to plug it in until I am sure everything is OK. It will at least stop me buying more watches for a while!;)
