    Received a boat load of NATO straps from cheapestnatostraps.com today. The wife unit called me a strap whore. Cool. :thumbsup:

    That is a lot of straps (unless you're me:whistling:)

    You might need another watch or two now. :p

    And a Pogue to add to my "space watch" collection ;)

    In need of some TLC but the dial is pristine as is the movement.

    There are some world-class enablers here on OF. But, as much as I appreciate that fact...and believe me I do...
    there is simply nothing like in-house enablement.

    Mrs. DB surprised me with a new watch case and Knirim reference book today. Just another of the many reasons I ::love:: her.

    Took a flyer on this one recently because, well, it caught my eye while I was in my cups. :whistling: Looks like an unsigned Valjoux 7736 ( same as in several Heuer Autavia references ). SS case built like a tank, flat mineral crystal. I will guess late 70's. Promotional item maybe? Faux vintage? ::confused2::

    If you know - you know.

    More will come when I get it home. It has seen some polishing but nothing bad. Minute hand might be substituted or refilled. From my pusher in the east... He keeps me high. His photos - with permission.

    IWC C-Shape ref 2611 Yacht Club caliber 89.
    The automatic version of the Yacht Club range is well known, however only relatively few was sold with the last production run of the famous hand wound cal 89.
    This one is homebound!:D::psy::

    Thank you, sir. :thumbsup:

    The sources for the cases are somewhat vague. The black leather covered case (first and second pics below) was given to me by my father when he passed away in 1996. I believe that he purchased it in the 1930's or 1940's...but I'm not too sure about that. He used it to store his watches, cuff links and tie tacs/clasps. I couldn't find a brand label on/in the case.

    The wood/glass case (third, fourth and fifth pics below) was one of my college graduation gifts that I received in 1986. The front gate to my alma mater (Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia) is displayed on the top under the glass. The fifth pic below displays the brand label that's on the underside of the case...but I'm having a hard time making it out. This case didn't come with partitions or sections and isn't lined with any padding or felt...the partitions that you see are foam scraps from aftermarket storage boxes that house my Lionel trains.
