Wonderful, Todd. Is that from Zaf? I want to see that in person! What kind of new strap are you getting? What's the interlug width?

Thanks Adam, it was your Omega signal corps and Lou's Zenith that inspired me to hunt for one. The Mrs. rarely takes an interest in a watch, but I came home and she had opened the FedEx box by mistake and immediately "adopted it." I need to change the strap to something less dainty quickly before I lose it forever.

It is the watch that Zaf put up last weekend, he said the strap on it is 15mm but I think it should be closer to 14. I need to pull out a calipers to check. I also need to figure out how he attached the strap to each lug. I have seen straps that have metal tangs that you fold over, but this seems to be glued. My strap tool for this one might have to be a scissors 馃檨

I bought one from this gentleman in NY to get me started:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261834055889?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

It is only 12mm, so should fit ok with a little play.

I am also planning to order one from http://www.vintagewatchstraps.com/index.php, is that where you purchased the strap for your Omega?

We definitely need to have another Chicago get together soon!

Very nice Todd! And my Lemania came with a glued strap like that, funny thing is it had removable spring bars. And unfortunatly scissors seem to be the only choice.

Have a very special incoming package tomorrow that I'd like to share with you and Todd...maybe it's time for another meeting at the Duke!

I've been wanting a Frederique Constant for a while now, and managed to pick this up new with tags on the Bay. I have to say it looks absolutely stunning in person, especially for a watch of this price.

Could be a cleaned and re-lumed dial, or a NOS piece? Looks fantastic! What caliber? Doxa made some really weird "jumping seconds" movements....

Why on Earth would you make a promise to yourself like that, yet you're still an active member here? 馃槙 It's setting yourself up for failure! 馃え 馃槣

EDIT: by the way, NFW. 馃憤 Member Alpha buys a watch with Alpha style hands.

Valjoux72 as well? A very cool watch indeed!!馃榾

Yes. That's correct! It's quite the presence on the wrist at 40 mm and I long yearned for a "Panda" type dial configuration. The fact that it has some interesting motorsport history, this model having been worn by the great Jim Clark, makes it quite appealing.

Cheers,
