Picked up this 6139-6002 "Pogue" Seiko today. Didn't know anything about these until a day ago. The Pogue was apparently the first auto chrono in space, so pretty cool. Runs but needs a a crystal and service, but I got it dirt cheap. Nice size at 42mm
Stowa Partitio, manual wind. Taking advantage of the favorable exchange rate...This is the photo from their website. Will be on a dark brown strap, though. This is a very nice 37 mm size.
Went watch shopping at the weekend for my daughter's 18th (next week). Staff in High Street Jewellers and Department stores are funny . You'd think with 15 years or so in the industry they'd be able to suss out their customers a bit better. Never even engaged me about my own watch ('69 Speedmaster) and I ended up having to put it behind my back as the watch talk got so basic that it would have been embarrassing if they did eventually spot it. Did go back in on the Sunday to try and give them the sale but have ended up ordering this online from the UK as it's one of the last few available with the Tuning Fork logo at 12 on the dial; the new batch have a standard 'stick' marker like the other hours now. It's just landed at Brisbane with DHL so should see it tomorrow. It's going to be huge on my daughter's wrist, but it was evident that she liked rose gold and she's proud to have an automatic and a Bulova (her Dad's also got one; 1970 Snorkel ). The colours work really well with her skin tone but we may have to get a shorter strap . Will get a wrist shot next week. Let's hope this piece of 'French" engineering can compare to the quality of the 'Swiss' quartz Gucci that we turned down. High St retail $ is terrifying WR is very disappointing for this day and age though Have also been very lucky myself with some one picture eBay listings of old Omega 'literature' this week but I'll wait until they are confirmed on the plane before sharing those
Seriously, 14 hours since last member purchased a watch.... Just got this one in. Love how light the titanium is on this one.
Nice!! Good for you. I hope you got a great deal on it. Is that a 45.5? I thought you were going to get a Good Planet GMT?
It is the 45.5. I pretty much love any blue face watch Omega makes and l was torn between this one and the good planet. I really like the size of the good planet, and wanted a GMT, but I thought this one would be more classic. I was also worried the novelty of the orange letters on bezel with the GP.
I can't even see where there is ANY adjustment to this. Anyone else know if there is any adjustment? But taking a shot. Thought it might look good on one of my 50's Seamsters, or even a Steel Connie. 18mm
It's an NOS case, crystal, crowns, hour bezel and minute ring for an Edox Geoscope. My plan is an upgrade for this guy, most notably for the case and minute ring. The new minute ring shows only a trace of green gasket goo... just enough to confirm authenticity.
Purple snot on a case back makes a WIS giddy! Here I was at the computer this afternoon when an email came through from a consigner that I buy wine from. Lo and behold, on the list of rieslings was a few bottles from the legendary 1983 vintage - and 3 were from one of our favorite producers J.J. Prüm. Had to buy them all. Had to. If you're into wine at all you'll understand. In riesling-ese, this is a 1954 18k Constellation 2700 caliber 354.
A 1966 Zodiac Aerospace GMT with original bracelet. It is accompanied by a Letter of Provenance for the chain of military ownership, regrettably no name supplied of the US Pilot who wore it in Vietnam.
That came from ebay, right? I so regret missing out on that price. That blue tropic is a good look, btw. Need to find a non-Squinky source for one.
The adjustment for these is done by turning the screw through 90 degrees then sliding the strap inside the clasp and tightening the screw again. It works like a cam and locks on the small teeth inside the clasp.
