Think this is a pretty narrow view. Bitcoin has ordinals, rare sats, marketplaces are being built, there's still a lot happening on the biggest/baddest/best blockchain...

I don't want to dump on Bitcoin but ordinals and rare sats are basically NFT and shiny pokemon cards. Hardly the best example of blockchain use case.

And about 80%+ of all active defi projects are in ETH. Now, granted, probably much of that is meritless stuff on search of a use case, but definitely the ETH ecosystem seems to have a big first mover advantage here.

Not to mention the focus on increasing scalability on layer 2 so that it's actually usable for normal users. The upcoming Dencun hardfork should increase layer 2 capability to 100,000+ transactions per second with a 10x decrease in per transaction cost on Layer 2 ($0.01 per transaction or even below $0.01 per transaction). There's an actual roadmap for how Ethereum is going to be scalable.

Dencun is only 2 weeks away. Many redditors are discussing what color Lambo they will buy. I'm trying to decide what vintage Omega model to get with my fantasy gains.

It’s not working for me. I had eth staked since it was available to do so, and I just want to sell my staking rewards to put towards a new watch but everytime I go to press sell my finger freezes. Now this rally, is it sustainable? Are things more “stable” or upward with the new etf’s. I don’t know. Didn’t it go from 51k to 62k in three days? I could be wrong my heads a bit off lately.

I get the arguments, or discussions on btc vs eth but eth wouldn’t exist without Bitcoin and they both do what they are supposed to. Eth has active developers looking to improve it btc is what btc is. Gotta have both anyway. I do enjoy seeing the funny memes and gifs that pop up when btc and eth are running hot, people come up with funny stuff.

Yeah, if I'm being transparent and serious: crypto would have to hit some serious new ATHs before I went out and splurged on an unexpected watch. Crypto is my 'fun money', but I currently have more in my bond ladder than in crypto right now. Though, the way the charts are looking that may not be true in a few days!

Topped at 64.1K before a sell off that caused Coinbase to crash....had some Robinhood GME vibes. No sales were executable and some users portfolio's, mine included, showed a Zero balance even though coins were still in wallet.

Same here, let's see how things shake out before the halving. Historically the takeoff doesn't usually happen until a few months after the halving.

I thought we were in this for the tech. 😉

Having gone through three cycles myself, bear markets are easy because I just DCA monthly. This is the first bull market where I'm looking to sell because it's approaching life changing money. Whatever happens, it's going to a wild year.

LOL I definitely am in it to learn about the advancements. Just so happened that my question yesterday coincided with a wild day. 😁

I should have been better at DCA'ing through the last three cycles as well but stoked to hear you've gotten to the life changing money part! It definitely will be a wild year. Hopefully the central exchanges can get things sorted out so the influx of traffic don't cause outages which in turn cause panic selling. Really curious to see how the year plays out. And especially curious to see how Dencun affects Etherum gas rates.

64k to 61k sounds normal with btc. Now seeing 0 in your wallet that is messed up. You must have been close to heart attack. A while back coinbase messed up and I think it said I had 100 million plus, might have been a billion i took a screen shot but it’s buried behind cat and cloud pictures. That just ain’t right and yes I tried to sell a few million but it would not process.

Mind you when I think of selling any eth I’m just thinking my staking rewards as all I had to do was lock some up for that. Crypto never was part of my retirement plan I got in back when it was the libertarian money and I thought it might change some of our P2P transactions. I was also a called an “idiot” back then for thinking Bitcoin would do anything.

The only thing I’ve moved thus far was giving me wife some I’ll be damned if she didn’t figure out how to sell that in a day but I did give it to her so can’t complain. I feel safer with apple, Nividia etc than crypto but it’s always been fun to be in even during the 2,787 times it was declared dead.

I had life changing crypto money but I lost my keys in a tragic boating accident. The IRS would like to speak with you.

XRP holder like me are not in it for profit Mr. Gensler... just in case he is a member.

I also have my bags packed and been DCA-ing since 2019. Lets see if its life changing but one thing is sure, I will be cashing out 80% in this bull run and someone else will be my exit liquidity as opposed to the opposite.

What a wild week! Feeling really good right now. But question is whether to sell (and buy a watch or two) or let it ride?

Ha ha glad you are having the same struggle. I just found an eth and a bag of Solana in an old wallet I forgot about. I honestly thought I converted the SOL to btc when sol had those network issues years back. Mind you not any of this is life changing money.

Normally I would think with this situation btc is too frothy and due for a drop/correction but now that the bankers are on this I can’t make heads or tails of any of this.

So can I drop a couple eth on a nice watch? Will I be kicking myself in the arse if these hopium addicted analysts screaming 10k plus 2024. Thinking it through I could borrow against myself . Sending my wife some surprise solana will make her happy. Please a nice “I told you so” she said I was wasting money getting into it at a few bucks. I don’t know flip a coin so to speak. Good first world problem for a non rich working stiff.

Maybe I’ll crack open my hopium canister take some massive hits and pick up a few Daytonas on my way home from the lambo dealer. Sorry for the TLDR I’m stuck home today so bored. Hope all are healthy and happy.

I'm starting to hear chatter about crypto at work. FOMO is setting in...
