Damn blackrock stacking with a lot more cash to buy. In a way it’s sweet sadness seeing the bankers take over what I hoped would be the libertarian money flow but no one asked me anyway

Hey doubt anyone can help just asking. I’ve had btc in a vault and eth staked. I am looking at two possible quick change of addresses coming up and concerned a KYC exchange will freeze me out for manual review with the updates. So I’m putting most everything in self custody wallets (I got two already active) I’m just not sure my eth will be unstaked in the timeframe I have.

Anyone ever update/change an address with an exchange? Sorry I know this ain’t a Bitcoin forum but you gotta be careful asking too much on the sites that have crypto wonder boys they are very good at exploiting.

It's been a minute, but FWIW: I seem to recall some of the larger exchanges taking a day or so to approve changing a withdrawal address. Not sure if that's still accurate.

ETFs are now live and they'll grow their profits as AUMs grow. Soon they'll also be able to trade options on these ETFs I guess.
I wonder if they'll be going after Tether again to shift more people into ETFs.

It is still crazy to me how much hype has driven the value of bitcoin.

Hey thanks I’m changing my physical address and prob 2x in a short period of time. Only once in probably 10 years I had to reverify my personhood and I remember they screwed something up and customer service is a joke. I’ll update when I see how it pans out. Like you it’s been a while so I don’t know what I’m in for other than when they screw up it’s kinda on you to remedy everything and they don’t make it easy. I understand the safety part but at this point just getting it out of the vaults into self custody will help me avoid any glitches or so I hope

I’ve been watching eth (sure I’m not the only one) I remember its last run to 4K and I’m seeing all the crazy hopium predictions of 10k etc. I was thinking of cashing in a bit for a watch or something but really these metrics that sometimes make sense with stocks go out the window with crypto. If I do sell I’ll let you know cause it will probably run up 1,000% after I sell

I have a perma-bull friend who holds through all dips and DCAs... so far, he is winning!

He thinks the BlackRock ETF is a boon as they will buy all newly mined coins and therfore price should rise as supply dries up. Could be.. but gbven how much BR is the heart of the exisitng order which is deadset on CBDCs, it seems more likely they want to control and supress it like they do with gold.

The hedgies are buying more Bitcoin than is being produced. Read that in a non crypto publication, I think it was Forbes, so seems believable I don’t know how long that is sustainable.
I do agree with you about manipulation it’s already been going on prior to black rock etc. I do get bummed as the exact opposite of what Bitcoin was meant to be when I got in versus what it is now but Bitcoin is neutral it’s us who make it what it is, only good for buying drugs and illegal things ha ha.

Forgive me if this was asked previously, but with all the new noise around crypto and different entities wanting to be the first to post the story I'm having a bit of difficulty finding good news/updates on Crypto that aren't just "shot in the dark" price predictions. *Before someone jumps down my throat, yes I'm aware there are significant analysts these days who are providing these price predictions.

What I'm wondering is where do fellow members go to for well balanced Crypto news / updates? Maybe I've been out of it for a minute too long now, just buying and holding not really digging deep, but back in the 2016/2017 days Tradingview, Twitter, etc. were pretty good starting points to fall down the rabbit hole for relevant news and technology. Yes, there was a lot of conjecture but also some really good info once you weeded through the bulls***. And I'm not saying I don't want to read some good market analysis, but I'm looking for industry updates to understand where advances are being made. So what outlets do we frequent now if we want to get a good pulse on the sector as a whole?

If you're into Ethereum, the Daily Gwei by sassal is a must listen. He goes through the daily updates in the space and the advancements made in Ethereum (ie - upcoming Dencun upgrade to make Layer 2 scalable and super cheap). There's sometimes a little discussion about price but most of his episodes are focused on the tech.

His latest episode on YouTube below.

Reddit sub r/ethfinance also has good discussions on the tech and the latest happenings in the Ethereum world.

I focus on Ethereum because that's where all the development is happening. There's nothing new in Bitcoin.

Y'all, say what you will pro or con... But look at this chart 😲

Edit: wait, does this mean the crypto bros will be coming for our watches again!? 😒

Appreciate both of the replies @Zman4eva! Looking forward to checking out the YT videos. I should have noted Reddit as a source in my post as it can also be a great source of research inception points. I hold some ETH as well as BTC and from way back some XRP. Curious to see how things move leading up to the halving and then after.

haha yeah the 5yr chart is pretty nuts. 2021 bull run was definitely fun but I'll never forget the Bull run of end of 2017. That graph does nothing to describe how eventful that last couple months of 2017 was for cryptocurrency. I was so engaged in the market I still wonder how I kept my job during this time. LOL constantly checking my positions during this time but somehow managed to get work done. I'm eager to see how the market/greater public opinion reacts to the halving.

hahaha yes, yes it does. But then it works two fold for us so that we can part with the ones we're no longer into for a premium. 😉

I’d also say with hesitancy Reddit has some decent crypto news. I focus on eth and Bitcoin and there are some people who know their stuff posting links and analysis. And yes 2017 was interesting I was another one always looking at my phone and excusing myself from conversations to buy dips. Funny times.

Think this is a pretty narrow view. Bitcoin has ordinals, rare sats, marketplaces are being built, there's still a lot happening on the biggest/baddest/best blockchain...
