Prices continue to rise. Interesting news that Visa will be settling USDC transactions on the Ethereum blockchain soon.

Crypto’s just about mainstream now.

That makes sense though, USDC is backed by the USD. Etherium has the potential to add some true value as a transaction infrastructure. The technology has always had potential, I've never been a fan of the the unregulated nature. Part of the maturing process though.

Coinbase going public is quite interesting. It doesn’t mean regulation could not have an impact on crypto eventually but the SEC didn’t push back on Coinbase. ETF’s in the works apparently, still many bullish indicators but it’s crypto and anything could happen, it’s been quite interesting to watch and participate in, a bit of an historic event, no matter how it plays it, it has been interesting, interesting things are cool

Are you a fan of the regulated nature of the financial mess the world is in today? 😉

Has anyone been holding doge? I swing traded some last year and made a few hundred bucks. If I'd held it, I would have been up 90X today. 😲

Have you picked up any of the yield paying coins. I got a little as I was curious about them, Algo, which pays 6% apy and DAI which pays 2%apy? It’s interesting to see them perform as they do. I didn’t put much at all into them just wanted to be part of the project. DAI seems to be a solid stable coin. Algo damn I know very little about it I just got my wife a little as she was complaining about the rates of CD’s so I got her something that pays 6%, unfortunately she won’t be getting rich but it’s the thought that counts, as they say.

Better than having nothing at all. Not letting the US capitalist corruption lead the way would certainly help things but don't see that changing anytime soon.

I haven't dabbled in any of that. I'm embarrassed to say, but all my crypto is just in my RH account. 🙄

Said platform is currently crippled as it struggles to handle the doge volume. I'm getting GME flashbacks.

Can u tell me what I’m missing. I gotta be honest all I know is doge was created as a joke for people to play around with now it’s up like 14,000% in whatever amount of time. I honestly can’t follow all this stuff and I don’t like to have contempt prior to investigation. Am I missing something? What is the attraction? Is doge utilized for transaction? What the hec is going on. Maybe it has some superior aspects I know nothing about.

Ah yes. Where would we be today without the people who were alerted to Bernie Madoff’s fraud five times and did nothing? Securitized fraudulent mortgages? They were all over that one too, right?

Where would we be today if there was no regulation at all? You think it's bad with regulation, how bad do you think it would be without it?

Grass is always greener right?

Why do you frame this as an all or nothing proposition?

So what's the middle ground then? Genuinely curious. I've read plenty of criticism or at least strong implications that the current system is flawed (which I acknowledge) but maybe I missed where a better proposal was presented.

For starters, people at JPMorgan would go to prison for the multiple felonies they commit on a regular basis, some of which they even admit to. The fines the SEC hands out to their friends would meet or exceed the profits from the crimes committed. They could spell out exactly what their policies are as far as what, exactly, will be considered a security in the crypto space. At present, their definition seems like the Supreme Court’s definition of obscenity.

To greatly simplify it, you would like better regulation and associated enforcement? We can certainly agree there. The penalties for financial crime for both individual and corporates are for most part a joke. Then again, so are many criminal charges, automobiles come to mind.

I like the concept of cryptocurrencies, I appreciate the technology behind them as well. What I'm not a fan of is the current state of them.
