I love aquariums so peaceful to look at and listen to. I’ve only had smaller tanks, 75 gallons was my max. I’d love to get back into it someday but it’s I’d also like a parrot, dog, monkey and perhaps a ferret so I’m not sure which way I’ll go.

This is my small 10 gallon tank. Sorry for the crappy picture with lots of glare. It's a cool hobby but I'm really quite terrible at it. I had 2 mollies and about 8 tetras at one point but had an ammonia spike and killed most of them. Only 3 tetras left at this point. Those guys are troopers. I just can't seem to get my water quality consistent so not sure when I'll get more fish. It all started because I was trying to save a kids Beta fish that was on the brink. I saved him. And then killed him about 8 months later. ::facepalm1::

The key to a healthy system are plants. Chuck in some floating plants like Limnobium Laevigatum or Salvinia Auriculata and that'll keep your water levels on the safe side.

Thank you! I'll have to try it again. I had a couple plants and things were going well. Then I over-pruned one and I guess it starting dying. Threw the whole system out of whack and had a huge ammonia spike. Probably a rookie mistake but I am after all a rookie.
