Anyone use Watch Winders?

I have a rotation of 21 watches that I wear regularly. Most are automatic, with only four manual winders. I have no problem letting the automatics and manuals stop between wearing. And, I get an appreciable amount of satisfaction bringing them back to life [including settling the date] when I switch to the next watch. The one exception is my automatic watch with an annual calendar + Moon Phase indicator; the process of settling the day, date, month and correct Moon phase is so onerous that I keep this watch in a high-quality winder 馃榾

Like many, I have a lower end watch winder (winds 8, stores an additional 11) and on the whole it's fine. However, two of my watches - a 1985 Heuer Titanium and 2000 Forum Bubble will eventually run down if kept on the winder for a few weeks. I think you may find that certain watches require more "input" that these winders give. I've not had any issue with Rolex, Omega, MuDu (I can't think which other makes I have that are automatic) running on that winder.

Can any of the watchmakers out there explain something to me?

I keep my watches on a winder, but this week, after being away for 2 weeks, I found 1 of them had stopped. I had a similar problem with another watch a year ago. The watches were stored on different carousels, and in each case, the neighbour watch on the same carousel was fine. Both of these watches in question kept good time when worn, but stopped when stored on the winder.

One has a Valjoux 7750 - about 10 years old but it was serviced 2 years ago. The other was brand new, a Sellita SW200 I think, but I returned it for this reason.

I there a possibility that the uniform motion delivered by a winder would affect individual movements in different ways?

Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Have you verified that the number of turns per day and direction of wind is set correctly?

That would be the first thing to check. Note that the 7750 only winds in one direction.

Cheers, Al

Only for my annual calendar as setting that is a pain - all others - nope.

This is the only purpose of it.
For normal automatic watches is a nonsense!

Thanks all, I鈥檒l Investigate the winding options - I think I have it turning one direction, resting, then turing the opposite direction, which from what @Archer says, would be wasted on the 7750.
