I saw this, redial IMHO so someone is going to be disappointed.

it’s a decent reprint job but the font on the omega text is too thick IMHO, also if you look closely at the dial surface there appears to be some putting

The dials on these sector jumbo 26.5’s suffered badly but this one appears to be perfect however there is obvious corrosion signs on the movement and no stem and crown, just didn’t add up to me

hope I’m wrong but I’d suspect it’s had a dial refinish at some point, which seems strange to find in a a charity shop, but hey ho.

    cheers tom

    I vote for re-dial too

At first sight I was tempted to participate but after I had done my homework I gave it a pass

Yes. I had some doubts as well. I did'nt feel comfortable. Besides that, I bought a 14395 this morning. :D

What makes you think it's a redial?

    Omega logo
    thickness of print (i.e. circles)
    I would expect two-tone finish

compare it with an original one...

    Compare with this example:

Also, I think the hour and minute hands on OP watch are replacements, as they are slightly too long. The seconds hand on the OP watch is correct and the one above has been replaced.

The "Ω" logo is totally different.

    Hope this helps,

Thank you so much for this, by the way the patina on the picture you posted looks great

You touched, perhaps inadvertently, on another crucial "tell". The hands of the subject watch are degraded in a manner that is consistent with the approximate age of the watch, yet the dial, in contrast, has not. For an ~80 year old watch that was clearly not kept in a drawer throughout its life, the white dial is suspiciously clean.

At least someone with talent did the redial. Doesn’t look like they used a sharpie or pencil on that one. Still if the buyer didn’t see that I’m sure he is going to be an unhappy camper

Yes I was watching out of interest to see what a redial would go for. Although the dial is very well done the logo isn’t the same as an original dial.

Although the seller didn't say it I think it is safe to say people knew it was a refinished dial looking at the bidding. If the dial was original and in that condition it would have sold for 5x that or more.
