It was a super secret issue. A very nice gift with the agent's name engraved on the back.

Imo no working watch belongs into the garbage (thats why I have some rubbish in a drawer since decades) 😉

They issued them solely to KGB employees? That would have created the same, obvious problem!

Unless, of course, they only wore them at secret KGB meetings. 😁
