Hi all;
I've been searching old threads for recommended watch makers in Boston and now have three places:
Paul Duggan
European Watch Co
Yuri's Watches
Does anyone have experience with these watch makers?
I now have three places to stop in and compare. Any other suggestions??
Thanks.
Greg.

What are you looking to get done? I'm at European Watch Co and we service a ton of different brands and watches.

wonderful! I can come by some time over the next couple of weeks.
I have my father's 1964 solid gold Seamster Deville (my avatar) which is in pristine condition and I have been afraid to have touched.
I brought it to the Omega Boutique in Natick and they oohed and aahed, but said they didn't want to open it up.
(Turns out that sounds like a very good thing)
I also have a 1989 Speedmaster Professional, a 1954 Seamster and feel like I'll probably add to a slight collection over time.
The more I read the forums, the more I realize that I need to find somewhere to go in person to have the watches looked at.
I'd like to have a go to option. I want to open up my Speedy, to take a look at the serial numbers, movement, etc.
But there are so many options in Boston, that I was unsure where to start with vintage pieces with sentimental meaning.
I've been in your store once just to look at what you had for sale, but would love to drop in again.
I hope to see you soon.

thanks!

You're welcome. Rick's a good guy, and an excellent watchmaker.

Come by anytime. I'd be happy to open your Speedy for you.

I just thought I would report back to the people that I met with OF member @shane0mack today at European Watch Co in Boston. He opened up and timed my Speedy and some other watches as well. I felt comfortable leaving my watch with him for repair (sad to see it go, but looking forward to a fix) and comfortable enough that I will leave other watches there for cleaning and service in the future. We chatted and he tempted me with some beautiful vintage watches (including a 1966 Speedmaster, a caliber 321 gold chronograph and a mido centerchrono). I enjoyed the meeting immensely and look forward to returning there. I'll report back once my Speedy returns as well. Thanks!

Thanks for reporting your findings. As a newbie Bostonian (well, Brooklinian) it's helpful to know what resources are available locally.

Just a thought. Why don't you contact them directly and ask them rather than get second hand information?

Hey. Good idea. In fact we should all stop posting on OF and just use google for all questions.

You should go first

Just in case anyone else from CT/MA is reading this, I've had decent luck at Smith & Sons in Springfield.

Although it's not a bad idea to ask here, we certainly would have welcomed a call. We normally charge $500 for a chronograph servicing. I can probably work on a discount for an OF member, though...

Thanks for replying with a price quote and nice offer, @shane0mack . Fortunately (or unfortunately) my speedy needs a repair but not a service and is running well. Also, being new to OF I wasn't sure if the policy on individual members sharing prices like that here.
