Anyone here get this beauty? I'm on the bench after 2 purchases this week.

Looks amazing! It's next on my list and if I find one anywhere near as good as that I'll be delighted.

Indeed - well done! I was disappointed to be outbid.

Way to step up!

Dibs!

Just glad that someone here got it. And DIBS!

For the record... Pitpro in first with the dibs!

As several here suggested, I now have a short list of references to buy when I come across a fine example, and this one ticked all the boxes. As soon as I saw it, I did make an aggresive offer to end the bidding, but so many (You know who you are!) were pinging behind the scenes there was no way that seller was ending the auction early -a good call on his part. I could see the ultimate second place bidder kept topping up his own best bid, and decided to go for it with a late snipe (using Gixen btw), and got it, just.

You bought a hell of a watch.
The pics were poor but with
the clear bracelet picture and the clear
picture of the lugs along with the
vibe of the seller, I knew it was good.
I hould have ignored the guilt of buying
2 watches last week and went for it.
Glad you got it.

Pitpro,
Have lost many watches because they came up for sale shortly after some expensive purchase(s) and I've regretted missing out each and every time. I'm pretty sure your memory of missing this one will be far more prominent than your memory of purchasing the other 2 watches.

that's an incitement to poverty, but I cannot disagree. Fiscal prudence is a recipe for regret. You won't hear THAT from your financial planner!

All I can say is I can live without a financial planner but can't live with regrets. That's why I don't have one.😁

As they say, the time to buy the rare ones is when you see them.
Thanks for the sage advice. 😉

I snagged this one, was too nice to pass up. 😗

Hope it lives up to expectations when in hand. And that I can wear it comfortably. By that I mean there are no vintage "safe queens" for me - my watches get worn or get gone - and this one might almost be too pristine, if that makes any sense.

Respectable Member Darlinboy

If I had to live without meals, it is all right. But to part with this watch in such a condition, never.

Thank you.

Amen brothers!

One of my most worn watches, with the best full rotor ultra-thin automatic ever mande, came along just after I layed out serious coin to buy both the Seamaster Pie Pan and Constellation DeLuxe Pie Pan. Nikolas posted the AP 5279 and was kind enough to give me a few days to get the money together.

I have a financial planner ... and a whole bucketload of regrets... starting with missing out on David's Master Moon last month ::facepalm1:: and quite a few more regrets

Nigel, that's what flipping is for. Better to have bought and flipped than to never have bought at all.

That's why I don't have a financial planner and manage my money myself - part of the education I got from my mom growing up.

I have a financial planner
Now why do you want to hire someone to tell you to live the first 50 years of your life in austerity and the next 20 spending like a peasant. 😜

First thing they'll tell you is to stop joining forums like this one 😉
