Anyone have this A386 on their watch list?

this has nothing to do with this particular watch but I recently learned from speaking to the Heritage dept at Zenith that using movement serial numbers to determine date of manufacture is not entirely accurate. I was told that the movements were stamped and then only put together as ordered. The only way to be sure is with an extract.

Have you got a contact email for the Heritage department at Zenith?
Thanks

$10,499.00 -- winning bid. I had better reassess the value of my A386 which has the correct face and bracelet- or think about putting it on ebay when selling.

Is it me, or do we think there's a certain amount of shill bidding going on?

Frankly, anyone who's only been on eBay for a few weeks, selling a watch at $1000s, who puts out a poorly written ad that includes the old "pictures form part of the description" attempt to dodge accountability... they're not to be trusted.

If this is a serious buyer, he will have a nightmare with this POS

Seemed fishy all around to me. I'm in the market for one of these but definitely steered clear.

Maybe that's just me, but I would never give 10g to an eBay seller with only 4 reviews ... even if he has 100% rating.

It's not just you. This auction makes no sense.

Factor in one of his prior feedbacks has someone write than ebay indicates he is in one state on his online profile, but item shipped from a different state.

Definitely not kosher. Possibly not even an actual auction of any sort. I did fraud analysis for a few companies for a while, and stuff like this was one way (not the 'smartest', but effective in dribs and drabs) to actually launder money to a certain degree.

Seems everything has been spotted on this one. Well done on the inside of the caseback spotting

It says the seller is in the US but the watch will ship from Hungary. 😉
