I'm trying to get AWAY from people lol.
I'm only half joking. I know I obviously will be in very close quarters with a bunch of people.
But I would just appreciate not talking, or being talked to for the duration hah.
I'm a bit of a loner. While I greatly enjoy the company of friends and family, I also love to be totally alone.
There is something about sitting in one of these tiny private rooms and just watching the scenery go by that is very enticing to me.
You can also dine in your roomette if you wish. Your car attendant will bring your meals to you if you choose.

Nice, also good to know!
I say all this, but at the same time my wife makes fun of how social I am lol.
I'll usually talk to anyone about anything.

A potential idea, just given your personality as you describe it.

What about renting a log cabin in the woods for the weekend? Hiking in the forest or kayaking and enjoying nature, making a bonfire and catching up on some books?

This is how I try to get away from the New York Metro area. Vermont/NH/Maine is where I like to go.

So this is a whole other can of worms for me.
I've also been sending my wife Zillow links to small cabins for sale in North Carolina/Tennessee area hah!
You can get a solid little place for not a whole lot of money, and probably even pay for the monthly mortgage by renting it out!
I don't think this is really a realistic thing for us to do right now....but I'm planting the seeds!

OP, something else that will probably appeal to you is that Amtrak passes through many areas on these scenic long distance routes that have no cell phone service and no WiFi. Et voila, you are truly cut off from modern society. Yay!

Would look at what times you are passing through certain areas. Might think about flying there and taking the train back. Always wanted to take the train to Glacier National Park at Christmastime. Most of the trip there is at night👎.

Time to watch "Silver Streak" then. One of Gene Wilder's better films.

Or Narrow Margin. A Gene Hackman train movie co-starring Anne Archer. Gene Wilder’s best movies are Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.

My wife took the Empire Builder (I think that was the one) from Minneapolis to Portland across the top of the country (Glacier National Park), then caught the California train south. She loved it. Took a roomette, never had a problem, enjoyed all the people she met with along the way. And was very happy with the dining experience. Part of the magic for her was the act of slowing down...having time to read while the world moves by outside, then putting the book down and enjoying the scenery...then going to the dining car for a lovely meal and having conversations with the different people on the train. It is sort of like what traveling by ship used to me. You are on a voyage...and you relax and enjoy it.
You should write marketing copy

During her trip on the Empire Builder, she and a few of the other passengers spent some time describing what they saw to a blind man. At one point, a park Ranger came on board and give a casual lecture on the history of the park, and on the history of the Indians who lived there. She also said the train made a brief stop in Whitefish, Montana. She stepped off the train and she said she never smelled air so clean. There was fresh coffee every morning at the Portor's station just outside her roomette, and he took your reservation for breakfast in the dining car. At a certain point, towards the end, the train split...some cars going to Seattle, others to Portland. She loved the Portland station.
