Would'nt say collecting but this is my first 'decent' daily carry
Spyderco military 2
I do enjoy the lock, grip and thumb placement on the blade of these spyderco knives
I admit it was a bit bigger than expected.

Yeah the military is a bit too big, the PM2 is a smaller more comfortable knife, but I have found the Para 3 a better carry option. (But must say I own more PM2 than all of the 3 in the military family)

Thanks for the input, I also considered these, the PM2/3 have almost the same handle size?
Just shorter blade on the PM3?

Maybe i will get the PM3 or the benchmade mini 945 as a smaller option.

Sadly no stores who carry spyderco, benchmade etc. My only option is online.

I'll also put in a vote for the PM3. PM2 was always too big for EDC for me, and non-knife nerds always looked shocked when I'd open up a PM2 at work.

Lately, I've been using this silly, overpriced mini Troodon as my EDC at work. 90% of the time I'm just opening poly bag packages or cutting a zip tie, and the serrated edge has been great. And it's small enough to not freak out my colleagues.

Imagine if you open military 2 like me 😁
The one you pictured is automatic right?
I would get my front door kicked down if I order one of those.. some have even gotten into trouble ordering flipper knifes.

Cpm s30v, 45, 110?
So I guess i will go for the 30 steel?
110 is harder steel and not as easy to sharpen?

Yeah, I've got a few unnecessarily expensive, impractical fidget toys:

Restricting automatics really does seem silly when a similar length, fixed blade knife is not restricted the same way.

FWIW, my PM3 is M390. It has held an edge very well and I've never sharpened it. But, I've only used it for light things - cutting cardboard, paper, packaging, etc.

The Benchmade Bugout is a fantastic edc.

Whoa! I didn't realize they'd switched to magna cut. Have you tried one yet? I'm curious how they perform.

I used to have a couple of salt folders that I liked but they did seem to need more regular resharpening than other steels.

Made myself a Magnacut and Ultem mule… 😉
Magnacut is a great steel that holds an edge on par with most steel like SPY27 and SV45N. Had no issue with it and a great steel.

But I have Mules in a heap of different steels and growing with about 6 more steel variations to make yet 😗
