I literally live within walking distance of the Benchmade factory. I have bought their knives as gifts, but never owned one, until now. The REI 20% off sale convinced me to try one. I started small.

Not a model that is sold often due to how nice they are.....

Nothing that compares in my book.

These are a outstanding knife you just need one in hand to see the true allure and quality.

To get better you have to go custom which would double the price point.
$400-500 buys a lot of knife but none as sweet.
For that kind of money you may want to check out one of J's auctions.

So, there's no women types around on a Friday night where you are?

I'd move, and maybe do your tinkering on Wednesday nights.

Very tempted to get a Mnandi. Debating between buying one new or trying to get a older one with a different inlay

You want the box and papers, new comes with a tool and some lube and the leather pouch. ( mine also came with a nice Chris Reeve cloth )

I almost bought a Bugout a couple years ago when a local place had them for $86 + tax, but just couldn't quite pull the trigger. My EDC is a very inexpensive Ontario RAT 2, which for the price of $26 or so has fantastic ergonomics, and gets used daily. Eventually the pocket clip wouldn't stay tight so I contacted Ontario and the sent me a whole rebuild kit for the knife for free. I thought I was going to lose it last week when I went to Disneyland - they have a policy of no knives. I stuck it in the bowl at security and expected to have it confiscated, but to my surprise they didn't bother with it at all, so I still have it.

I've got a few different knives which I'll have to post, but this is a really special one that arrived a few days ago.
Made in 1959/60, it's a Puma White Hunter from Germany.
Incredibly it has never been used and has sat in it's box for 60 years!!!
The green powder you can see is from the old packaging in the box to protect the blade and literally turned to powder.
Even the leather sheath is so fresh and clean that it looks like it was made yesterday

I'm glad this thread suddenly reappeared, I'm currently looking to replace a pocket/ pen knife. I'm looking for something a bit different, pref UK. I've trawled the thread and have now gone snow blind.
Any recommendations greatly received.

Also pics( insurance pic) for clicks, I have a Global itch.

Hey Andy, did you see the recent knife maker references on Nick's latest newsletters?
