Didn't look at vintage, but ADs are very aggressive with discounts. Add in a VAT refund (received immediately), it's very competitive.

Thailand is famous for its redials and fakes.
I actually remember someone, probably on this forum, recounting how he went to Thailand wearing a speedy when someone offered him a fake one. So he replied showing his, "I already have one".
The seller looked and said, "no, that's real".
Thought it was hilarious.

I guess I won't be buying a vintage watch in Thailand. Or a new one for that matter. 😵‍💫

Since I’m a woman I’d rather be looking for watches.

I would also rather be looking for watches. I used that photo to illustrate the fact there is a lot of fakes around and everything is not what it appears. Applies to watches as well.

It is indeed a beautiful place. I have lived there for the last 20 odd years and never bought a watch there. Vintage or modern.
