My buddy had one. He got rid of it for some reason I don’t recall but he’s one of those tech nerds that has to have anything new and fancy. Coming from an iPhone guy I think the pictures he showed me on his google phone looked better than what I have at the moment, an iPhone 12 but I didn’t get the upgraded camera model I don’t know how much difference that makes.

snapseed was made by or for google, so hopefully it'll be winner-winner, chicken dinner w/this app.

Pinch zooming the screen really helped.

I have a bunch of cameras. I got a bit carried away last year. Mostly canon EOS. I was finding that the closest I could get was about a meter from the object. I found an EOS-M really cheap online. Got a bunch of EF lenses and the adapter rings. Cheaply made. the heavy zoom lenses ripped the ring apart. Stuck it back together. I keep meaning to try gluing it.

The new LED lighting and the pinch zoom really helped my bench shots.

I made a copy stand, but flat spaces tend to accumulate projects that are set aside.
Never set out to for things to look like a pack rat hoarder. Most of the watches I have acquired in the last 6 months are in that box.

And yes that is a spectrometer used for seeing the spectrum (color temperature) of a light source. Behind it is a lamp housing from a slide projector. The EOS-M is in there too.

The vinegar is for electroplating experiments.

Now I can not find my digital multi meter.

At least it is easy to use the iPhone and document the mess ...

The iPhone 14 has a great camera, and I really enjoy taking pictures with it these days. The only annoying thing I've encountered is too many duplicate photos, which, of course, consume a significant portion of my device's memory. I found a solution in this article https://applenapps.com/apps-to-delete-duplicate-photos-iphone/, where the recommendation is to install an app that cleans those duplicates automatically.

Iphone is all I ever use and to be honest I just try to watch for light and shadows and as usual back ground images.

What role does the stick mixer/blender (bottom right) play in all this?

Hi, too, struggle with this from time to time. Definitely be sure that the light source is behind you.
