Was thinking of purchasing but thought I'd let you guys pick it apart first, has a small bracelet, says it runs but I'm sure needs service. Doesnt have a movement pic but I think I can get it for $700... worth it? Does the serial number on the lug look right?

also if the bracelet is to small how are you going to get extra links for it?

 

Well itll fit my wrist perfectly as I have small wrists, but its 36mm.. I'm sure I could find links if I really needed them and looked hard enough

 

I love 2 tone watches.. it was a toss up between this and a 2 tone credor for $1000

 

Are you sure it will fit? Finding links will be impossible if Omega doesn’t carry them. Unless you can find another one and buy it for the bracelet.

The gold is 18K, so $700 is pretty cheap. If you like it, feel free. Always assume a service is required. Omega is best qualified for that.

I agree, he should. On the other hand, depending on your market, Omega might be less expensive because they change any movement part with wear and it's included. Refinishing is also included, though from your pics, it's probably not necessary.

Shop around and see what prices you get and what your comfort level is. In this case, either choice might be equally good.

So I know I can probably figure this out without asking but because im sure it's been asked before but how do I find out the exact year of production of this watch.. I only ask because the watch was listed as an 85 but I see most were produced in the 90s (from my limited research). But it would be really cool if it was an 84 (my birth year). So yeah I guess I'm just asking to ask. So far I believe it's a ref 2301.31

 

I have a white dial version of that watch, ref 2301.20 with a serial number of 495xxx. It was purchased new around 1994. At the time it was being marketed as a dress version of the Bond watch. The serial number has never made sense.
BTW, the bracelet number is 1501-823 and it has a 1109 movement. It looks to me like the 18mm Bond bracelet with gold trim. Interestingly the half link mine came with didn't have gold trim. I wouldn't be surprised if they are interchangable.
Note every time it's been serviced the crown has been replaced in addition to the gaskets. Why I don't know.
I wore that watch daily to work for close to a decade and liked it very much. One caution, the 18it bezel is easily scratched so don't wear it when landscaping, doing construction or repairing your car.
