the 17.2S is not a ‘tonneau’
To your point, this movement is identified as an Omega 17.2:

(thanks)
If correct, then obviously not the same as a T17...

From memory I think the 17.2 was used in the marine model.
The marine has a 19.4 inside.

Very cool! I bought a very nice example of a 1935 Omega for my wife from Alpha that I gave to her early this month for our anniversary (see photo). A watch like this would make a perfect Christmas gift! I'll put a wtb ad in the sales section but feel free to pm me if you have something like this in nice condition and would like it to go on my lovely brides wrist. 👍

Hi there
I see that this is a long dormant thread however I have just unearthed a couple of T17 movements, two dials and one case. One movement has the keyless work dismantled although I can't recall why I did it. However one movement runs astonishingly well without any attention so far - better than 250 deg and almost NO beat error, although it's running about 150 sec fast fully retarded. I have assembled the good movement in the case which fits one of the dials. The BAD dial, naturally. I'm proposing to get the dial reworked - as you can see the minute track is asymmetrical in relation to the (signed) tonneau case. Of course specifying the dial job requires that I have a suitable model to follow. Anyone got an idea? Some quick and rather poor snaps below,

Interesting. Do you have pictures of the inside of the case and caseback?

Arriving shortly!
I'm in a bit of a quandry over the dial. Apart from the overall condition, the minute track is out of proportion with this bezel. Now I'm well aware of the horror expressed over "Frankenwatches" and dial jobs generally but feel that this is worth an overall restoration - particularly as I won't be keeping it much longer (it's been in a box for at least a decade now.)

I have yet to check what relation the case code has to this movement (or the other identical one for that matter).
Ah, this precedes the Omega case code convention...

Took a chance on this piece from XXXXXXXX (classified by request). Arrived safe and sound a month later..😀

Appears to be a CK891 same case as Thomas’s middle example from the OP post. This is a larger case (40mm long).

Beautiful!
Thank you, it's a curvex style case too and it's going on a bamboo bonklip.

Ah, the beautiful T17 with a 60 hour power reserve ... don't mind my giggling as I think of the three day movements from Cyma ...

Some fabulous examples on this thread. I've been looking for a steel cased T17 with a good condition dial in the EU for years now. Everything I've seen is either badly redialled, overpolished, in horrendous nick or mis-labelled as being a T17 when it's actually a 20F. I've managed to get a decent example of every vintage Omega on my wish-list but this is my 'grail'. If anyone has any tips on EU based collectors who might be able to point me in the direction of potential sources I'd be really grateful

Cheers

Ian

Hi Chaps.

This is my T17. Got it from my grandma who bought it in 1947 for Her first salary, from first job She got after the war.
It was a non runner since 1991, then suddenly 2 days after I got it it started working again 😀

I've cleaned it up, polished the case and crystal and removed as much crap from the dial I could without overdoing it.

Is anyone familiar with this dial design? My entire Google search came up with only 3 photos and that's it 🤔, can't find any other info.

Nice watch! Dial seems to be made with black enamelled numerals and stripes

It's seen fairly often - very, very cool design!

My Tissot cousin shares some of the design language:
