"ripped off" to me invokes connotations that the seller was out to swindle or cheat the buyer. I assume the watch was advertised with photos of the movement/dial and case, and listed with a price. That price may have been high, but it's up to the buyer to decide on the outcome. To do that they need to know what they are buying.
