Has anybody heard anything about a PO update?
Seems they released updates every 5 years, with the last in 2016, shouldn't we see something new soon, maybe with some new features from Ultra Deep and the new interchangeable straps?

Let's hope they can slim the case down slightly
100%

I love the blue dial PO. Owned two versions, but case WAY TOO THICK. Sold them both. Would love to get a PO in form factor of the 2500 with blue dial.

The only thing I that seems to be mentioned is new 300MC expected sometime March, I don't think you'll see the new PO to next year.

The 300MC is mentioned because it leaked. And it leaked because it was supposed to be announced last year but was postponed due to the pandemic.

True, I spoke to an AD last week and they'd never heard of the new 300MC and he was unaware of any PO update. Fairly large UK based Omega boutique that said he did try to sell me the 300 vintage model. Hopefully some updates soon.

Omega really needs to go thinner.

Agreed, I'd also like to see a return to the solid silver ring marking on the bezel rather than the current dot markings. It makes the watch face too busy IMO.

The 39.5mm PO is very wearable. It's slightly slimmer than the 2500 models and overall a good size for someone with a wrist 7" or under.

Thick? What are you talking about?
So which version is this ? Please tell me it's at least a chronograph... I'm wearing a Tudor BigBlock today, and it's thinner than your PO...

Thickness of current POs is what led me to choose a 2500. I think that Omega needs to evolve the new movements to make thinner versions, that will end with thinner watches...

As for the original topic: no idea. But I see little purpose in making a new PO version unless they can make it thinner, which I don't see happening with the current movements.

The 8900 in 43.5mm I think they look out of place on people with skinny/thin wrists, but go decent on thicker/bigger arms for a nice presence on the wrist. Now the chronograph versions, those things are huge.

Pics of my 8900 43.5mm PO.

I think the current version of the PO needs replaced, it's starting to look a little tired imo.

I’d agree, it really depends on the person wearing it. I’ve had mine on daily for almost a week after purchasing, and really don’t notice it. Wrists around 7.5” and I’m over 6foot so seems to be just right. I personally love the wrist presence, but understand it might not be for everyone.

A new, slightly thinner, PO would be great. I had the 8500 model at 42mm and a couple of the 8900 models at 43.5mm. I ended up selling them at the time. I sold the 8500 (wish I hadn’t) for the newer movement and bracelet. The 8900’s were just huge, almost a cartoon caricature on my wrist. But I kept buying them just the same...

Strangely enough I still love the PO. There is something about the style and layout of the face and hands and numerals. I’ve promised myself to stop buying the same thing expecting a different experience! A sign of madness, they tell me...

So it’s either the 8800 at 39.5mm, or wait and see what the new one looks like. I just hope it’s released soon.

I own the 42mm 8500, I love so much the aesthetics…that I prefer it from my SUBMARINER, but sometimes I hate its thickness and something nobody is mentioning here, its INERTIA. When sailing or working with tools can´t deal with the inertia (the capacity of staying in its mood, or at rest or accelerating or moving) of this watch. Inertia is linked with weight.

So the dream goes for a thinner and lighter PO.

Omega have had in their hands the best modern diver of history the POLMLE, they must just reborn that watch!
