I had 3 Breitling the montbrilliant was very similar to the navitimer but the slide bezel was too tiny to possibly work with the the aerospace who’s hands would obscure the stopwatch if either hand was between 4-7 then a chronomat which was so blingy you couldn’t even read time on it

This is one of the crazy things I fly, A watch is essential, I tend to opt for either Tissot t touch or Apple Watch

Sadly even with epaulets, I couldn’t get laid !! “Not exactly Tom Cruise”....(says the wife)
maybe you were not wearing the right watch.

It’s an MTO Sport Gyrocopter or Auto Gyro, a modern version of Little Nellie, flown by James Bond
Like a flying motorbike- helicopter thing, it’s great fun to fly, very different to aeroplanes !! Just got to remember when in an aeroplane to not stop in the air like ya can in a gyro

If I ever win the lottery big time, I definitely need to consult you in all detail about this marvellous flying object.
I work in the airline industry also, but as ground staff, all I can afford is a nice watch and reduced tix every once in a while.

Fred Savage, of Wonder Years, is a watch enthusiast and also a pilot. Listen to his comments on the Breitling Navitimer and its use as a pilot's watch (starting at 4:50 on the video).

It’s really not as costly as you might think, best way of getting involved is a part ownership scheme and training. That is more costly at about £150 ph and you’ll require between 25 or 40 depending on your country or licence requirements

What a wonderful thing it is to have that much passion for a timepiece! Thanks for posting

IMHO, one of the best Vietnam era pilot photos, is this image of Jeffrey Feinstein, who flew as a navigator/weapons systems officer in the backseat of an F-4 Phantom. He was one of the 5 last fighter pilot/aviator aces of the Vietnam conflict
Note in this September 1972 USAF photo, Feinstein was wearing a Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT automatic chronograph with Pepsi bezel...

Yeah I guess but was more interested in the often quoted aviation watch!! Which was traditionally, big and very legible, very unlike a Breitling which by contrast is blingy and not always legible. Most aviation watches have gone down the jewellery route

My FIL was an Army helicopter pilot in the 60s and 70s through multiple combat tours in SE Asia. He wore a Seiko Bellmatic, now in the possession of my BIL. I had a photo somewhere, but I can't find it. It's more or less like this. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him, so I don't know why the alarm function was important to him.

Hello guys

I'm used to fly with those two watches.

To be honest it is quite impossible to use the computer whilst flying an helicopter and hence my first choice is for the Sinn.
