Clearly you shouldn't take your savings and buy watches

But if some shares did extremly well - why don't sell them and take some of the surplus and reward yourself with a nice watch??

No stocks of my own although I'm about to sell some other bits 'n bobs to fund this newer 'habit'. It's just shifting from one outgoing hobby to another.

Other than that, I only use savings from my pocket money reserves, specifically squirrelled away for these kind of things, be it cars, watches etc.

Depending on how this GME situation plays out, I may feel financially comfortable to buy a new watch this year. I had paused a bit on to the hobby to focus on some financial goals.... But might get there a little sooner than expected.

I sell stocks to buy more stocks. Why anyone would trade regular dividends for regular service costs is a mystery to me.

Ha ha impressive what Reddit did to gme. Shoot I’m the furthest thing from an advisor one could be but I’m taking profits cause this makes no sense

It is simply bananas. I took enough profit to cover my initial speculation. Diamond handing the rest.

If it keeps going, I may finally treat myself to a speedy, the only wristwatch appropriate for celebrating a trip to the moon.

GTFO now. It’s going crash and your not going to be able to execute your sale order.

Well I went to the stock market guru thread found it’s closed. Oh well. Was going to report Elon musk tweeted “I like esty” as he bought something for his dog there and the stock went up 8.5%. Now that’s power
Yeah he also said “You think Tesla is over valued? Hold my beer, I need to tweet something”

You may well be right. FWIW, I didn't yolo on it. Started with 1% of my portfolio. If I took all my profits now, it would be nice, but not really life-changing.

Didn’t take much with him. Apple had its first 100 billion dollar quarter. Shoot it’s wearables division is now a fortune 120 value. Is there any stopping apple? 111 billion dollar quarter to be exact

oh GME retail investors are going to get burned if they are still in. The are fueling the rise, the institutional investors already sold off enough to cover their initial position and when one of them want to end this silliness they will dump out and crash the whole thing leaving the retail investors with no one to take their sell orders.

I promise you if the same guy is behind this and AMC on Reddit and he made money on an existing position he is going to jail.

lots of people will loose money on this and only one house that hard a short position got burned. It deserved to be shorted at 40, it’s realistically only worth 10 a share.

I believe that as well but I was commenting on Apple after hours dip. Gme was an anomaly, an unhealthy one.

having said that my director bought gme at 10 so he can probably ride it for a while and be ok

Like some have said, I sell a watch to fund another watch. I did recently take some profits from trading to fund my Rolex 1601. Other than that, I keep watches and stocks completely separate. Savings as well! One must be smart with their money especially in this expensive hobby.
