I saw a white dial Ranchero in a shop recently and was rather taken by it. If any of you lucky sods have one, would be great to see

 

I will bet you a Ranchero that if you did a site search you would find numerous threads with members showing off their Rancheros. A little effort reaps big rewards.

 

Rancheros are lovely, but no reason to endlessly repeat what's been posted here. A search in the Vintage Omega Watches subforum will yield a lot of great info.

I did a search and actually there aren’t that many posts on these at all

It should be original, both have been tested for radium in the lumen and they both have, and also the hands. They degrade different , some are darkbrown, I guess it is the enviroment they have been in. If I take pictures inside the house they look much more brown, than this outside picture.

 

I brought my bankroll, deal me in.

Are the two white dials service dials @gemini4 ? I ask because the accents look grey and I understand service dials for these were grey.

 

No. These are all original radium lume dials.
As previously mentioned, these watches patina differently. The darker dial white example lived most of it’s life in hot humid Queensland Australia.

 

Ok, I have zero knowledge but see for example this grey coloured one, for sale at US$ 3,250 (so half price dealer prices basically) which says it’s a “genuine replacement” dial. Which I’m think is a service dial?

Is that dial different?

 

Sure is. Study the dials differences and we want a full report by Friday.

 

Oh yes, the Omega logo and text is in thicker font. And the triangle at 6 is a bit different.

The hands are totally wrong too.

 

That one on the upper right corner looks strangely familiar!
