Hi, any Leonidas owners in the forum? What do people think of them? I had my manual chrono for 8 years now, runs well but now needs a service. Share your Leo pictures!
Great stuff !!
Mine needs work too, it's been running great until yesterday, the crown is very stiff when adjust the time. Mine is a Landeron 48 I think.

Same- 48. Watchmaker serviced it and it ran great but the minute counter wouldn’t count, gave it back to him and he tore it apart and when I went back I tested it right in front of him and when you shook it the minute counter would flop around...he looked at it and said “sonofabitch!”. So he has it again.
Leonidas watches, somehow, were my way into watches. My dad's a watchmaker, and I'd wanted to get him something for his birthday--he'd given me a chronograph during my wife's first pregnancy, and that Tissot ended up charming me endlessly. For months I'd call him every few days and we'd talk watches, complications that he found interesting, movements he thought good; I was trying to learn as much as possible, but I also wanted to figure out what to get him.
I ended up deciding a moonphase was it; I'm sure at some point he mentioned particularly liking them. I got a Leonidas in gorgeous, nonworking shape, and then had to find a watchmaker locally, since obviously I couldn't send it to my dad. At some point while waiting for the watch to be fixed, I ended up bidding on *another* Leonidas moonphase, and figured that I'd never get it at the price I entered (I think a few hundred dollars). It's still one of my favorites, and one of the very few never-to-be-sold watches I own.
Impressive stories, it's amazing how watches are linked to people's lives. I can't think of an another object which men (tends to me men???) associate themselves with or people we loved.
