Holy Canoli!!! Look at those edges!

So you may have been born in ‘77, but conceived in ‘76- perhaps didn’t have real consciousness until ‘78...so there is some leeway 😉

In full disclosure, the case was refinished.

Stunning- I wouldn’t know. Have you posted ( in a other thread of course) about the process of getting it done, the costs associated, and if you’re happy with the outcome?

It was done at RolliWorks, and I'm totally satisfied with the results. I'd be happy to discuss the details by PM. I'd rather not post prices in a searchable forum, since every watch probably requires different work, and I don't want to create false expectations for someone else. If someone is interested, the best thing is to contact Mike directly by email, with photos, and discuss the specific work that needs to be done for a particular watch.

I am probably going to sell my RB. I will check the serial number, I know it's in that general time frame. Of course, you probably understand that there is no way to know the exact year.

Edit: Serial is 5,771,xxx, so perhaps more likely 1978?

That´s a beauty!

To the deeper point of learning about the GMTs:

With the watch linked above and other 1675’s I’ve seen, there is sometimes an oddity I don’t understand: the outer side of the a lug has the bracelet pin protruding. Seems the protrusion is often to only one side of a lug pair.

Is this a result of mismatched spring bars, a lug being polished thin, or?

This situation can be both a polished case or spring bar length.
It is common practice to photograph the lugs with shorter springs bars in situ, thus making the lug appear less polished. The extreme protusion shown here is imho a longer spring bar.
Below are pics with a shorter sb and a correct length sb on a polished GMT.
