Hamilton 950B, 23-jewels, adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism, adjusted to 6 positions, circa 1944. Bar over crown case. Patented motor barrel. One of my faves.

Got the matching bracelet for my new-to-me 38mm Khaki Field....

You’ll love it! I added it later, too. These watches have pretty long lugs and look great with any NATO, but this bracelet has not left the watch since I bought it.

- Fits the watch’s lugs perfectly
- Solid and attached end links
- As smooth and soft as any bracelet I’ve seen, including my Rolex Sub or Planet Ocean bracelet
- The 20 to 18 taper results in perfect weight and feel. Not heavy at all, but not dainty, “light and jangly” (yeah, I know…)
- Brushed/matte finish without looking dull
- Sturdy signed double clasp

No negatives. 👍

Since it's a copy of a USGI watch, I prefer a USGI-type strap. I think it actually fits better with one, too.

But I prefer a bracelet for nearly every watch I own!

My first Hamilton.

Looks to have a monocoque case so I can’t check if it’s a 66A or an ETA 2452 and, since the seller had it serviced (and it runs very well) and fitted a new crystal, it's unlikely that I’ll be sending it off to my watch repairer (fingers crossed).

Just a (possible) correction.

Having searched the web, I have come across an identical watch circa 1970, which has a Hamilton 694A movement (ETA 2472).

My model would appear to be a Hamilton’Dateline' A580 or A577. if this isn’t getting into too much detail.

I have picked up 2 vintage Hamilton Khaki 9415(?) by chance over the past year and absolutely enjoy wearing them. They're small, by modern standards, at around 33mm but they're a perfect utilitarian field watch and still relatively affordable.

I’m considering adding a Hamilton Khaki Field to my collection…the 42mm version…however, I’m concerned about the fact that it comes with their H-10 movement. According to what I’ve read, it will be difficult to find a local watch maker to service this movement correctly, and it should be sent to Hamilton if/when it requires regulating.

Thoughts/Opinions?

My new HKF42 arrived yesterday. Very nice build quality, and sits just right on my 7” wrist.

Look what just arrived today to expand the Hammy collection.... the limited edition 42mm Intra-Matic!!

! I know some members prefer remakes to stay true to the originals but 38mm would be too small for me so I'm loving this one!!

Took this video some time ago of a Chrono-Matic.

Not only do I like it but but my blue chrono-matic likes it too. Doesn't have an account here though, so please accept a virtual like.

Hamilton Thin-o-matic cal 628 micro-rotor, c.1965.
Fairly normal sized men's watch for the era, but then with very small lug-width (& super-skinny strap...). Guess the designers just wanted to try something different.

It's probably just a gussied up ETA 2824. I wouldn't worry about it, there will be parts in 10 or 15 years when it will need a service.

It's a classic watch, IMO (even though I like and own the smaller case).
