I’ve been thinking about purchasing a CWC for a while as I love the military heritage. Anyhow I pulled the trigger on this reissue of the 1980 RN divers watch. Would love to get my grubby hands on an 80 or 81 diver but these are extremely hard to come by. If anyone has one it would be great to see some pictures.

You will be lucky to winkle out many originals, they are very rare on the ground. I, personally think that this is the best military re-issue on the market, despite it's fully polished case. For me, best in the non vintage lume though. Congratulations on your purchase.

I owned a g10. A nice watch that I eventually sold as I felt that if I was going to wear a watch I might as well make it mechanical.

My experience is only with the reissues (a MK I RN Auto, SBS No Date quartz and SBS Day/Date quartz which I still own). I love them all. I know I'll always regret letting the RN MK I go. Here are the two I let go. For some reason I can't find any pictures of the one I still have 7.jpg :

I couldn't stand not having a RN, so when Silverman's recently restocked, I managed to scoop up a MKII Auto. The brushed top surface takes it to a whole new level:

Excellent choice with the 1980 reissue! I know what you mean about the original ones - I was lucky enough to see some of Jon's ("CWCaddict") collection of original early 80's RN divers in person at the last Time4aPint GTG in London about a month ago: simply breathtaking.

Love a CWC myself as you can see, the only one I'm looking to add is a RN diver. If i wasn't so keen on an issued one, I too would probably go for a 1980 reissue, or a Mk1 auto - I can easily see these becoming future classics.

1980 issues are especially close to my heart, being my birth year.
The ones I've gathered so far are 1980, 1979 and 1980 in this order:

Accurate and reliable and, having no date, easy to set.

So, inspired by the thread, I strapped it on
