Hey all,
Just wanted to share my cheap incoming today. Was at an antique and collectible show and was drawn to this Birks tank ( 40’s? ) Beautiful dial in my opinion and an interesting case. I’ve left my tools at work, I’ll post some movement pics when/if I can.

Nice! Birks was/is a Canadian jewelry/watch retailer. I'm guessing that the movement is an Eterna.

Very nice pickup! Birks Rideau were a line of dressier watches, many having Eterna movements. But I have a couple of chronographs with Vajoux movements, and at least one that maybe related to Breitling in some way. I also have an older Rideau with an A Schild movement.
If you tire of this one, let me know.

I have an early wire lug Birks that’s a Longines.

Hmm strange, when the dial, movement and caseback come out, I can’t see a way to get the crown removed. I know there’s usually a “button” on the movement to press but I can’t access the movement…

2 piece stem. Pops off and the movement will drop out.

Carefully 😉
Some people can do it with their fingers. There are pullers that can work. Tweezers, etc.
Simply need to get something between the crown and the case and pry up evenly from both sides.

Hmmm...that's not an obvious one. Possibly a cal. 1200, though.
