Here's another Seamaster I'm checking out. Please let me know what you think about condition and originality.

A few things that catch my eye:

1. The case appears to have been polished a time or two.

2. I'm not sure the crystal is original because it's so clean and I cannot make out a sign - although I *may* see it in the second photo.

What do you think about the dial?

Thank you!

I wouldn’t rule out one of these just because the crystal is a replacement, but that’s personal taste, I guess.

As far as I know / have learnt in this forum, and also according to a quick google search for the ref, the cross hair originally goes all the way through the dial, crossing the words on the dial, not sparing them out. They are also supposed to go all the to the end of the dial, through the minute marks. I’m sure some of the more senior members can verify that - until then I’d say they are not original and would pass on the watch.

It looks to me like an original dial. An image search for this reference gives several watches, both Seamaster and Geneve, with the broken crosshairs. The broken crosshair style is typical of late 60s Cosmics. Evidently there was a crossover period where old case style met new dial style. The serial number is about 1966 which seems to fit.

The Omega symbol on the crystal is visible in the second and fourth dial photos.

IMO: Nice original dial & handset - Unpolished original case - Correct original crown.
It is worth buying if the price is reasonable.

Looks nice, I see no issues. What is the asking price?

Yep, it’s in 4 figures. I’m in 3 figures. We’ll see. Thanks for your input!

Not even close to a four figure watch.

I agree. I couldn’t get him to 3 figures. I’m gonna keep looking and perhaps revisit his watch after some time passes.

In my search I’ve learned there’s always another Seamaster out there. 😀

Wow! People asking four figures for these now? Crazy.

You were completely right to skip it and look for another example. In my opinion reasonable price is under 500, but you may have to keep looking for a longer time.
