But I agree, it doesn't reflect well on anyone. And I can never get too excited about Rolex anyway. Every other bugger I meet at work seems to have one on.

Oddly, Rolex discourages collection of its vintage watches. It would much rather have you buy a shiny new one. Consequently, RSD (Rolex Service Division) will not service older Rolexes (let alone truly vintage ones). This is in contrast to manufactures such as Patek Philippe and Zenith, who undertake to repair any watch they've ever made. Whether you want to entrust your prize vintage pieces to them is another issue!
